Hillsborough River State Park Adventure Tours – Fort Foster Historic Site

The ranger-guided tour of Fort Foster is offered on Saturday at 2:00 pm and Sunday at 11:00 am on the first and third weekends of the month. The cost is $2.00 per person.

The structure is a reconstructed fort from the Seminole Indian War located 1800 ft. from the parking lot and has no restrooms available. Due to the sensitivity of this historic site, Fort Foster is only available via ranger guided tours. There are also two annual events associated with Fort Foster that include skirmish re-enactments that take place in December and February.

Bicycle Tours

Self guided bicycling for campers is permitted for touring the Wetlands Restoration Nature Trail as well as the Park Loop and campgrounds. Bicycle rentals are available at the park concession, located at the Poolside Cafe.

Tram Tours

One hour tram tours of the park, purchased at the park entrance, are available on Friday evenings at 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm. Limited seating is available, weather permitting. The pick-up area is at the Poolside Cafe near Parking Lot #4

Segway Tours

State of the Art Segway i2 PT models, designed for city and mild off-road use, are used for guided tours of the park. All tours begin with an orientation and hands-on safety instructions for the Segway. Our goal is to provide you with a safe, fun experience during the tour.  You must be at least 18 years old to rent a segway.
